Sometimes You Need To Slow Your Roll

At times, we feel the need to deliver content without ceasing.  Poem after poem, story after story, we slam out new material.  And as shown in the ten of wands, we’re active, laying down the next line, overburdened, tired, and stressed—we‘re barely hanging on. But without regard for how it may impact our fiery creativity we push on.

Progress must occur at all costs as we throw caution to the wind. The limits must be pushed so we can create new work without delay.

Our only desire, write more, for we can sleep when we die. Due to this twisted reality, we become exhausted, the work suffers, and our creative edge declines.  Why? Because of the internal struggle we face; we must make our audience happy and produce more regardless of our own well-being, or run the risk of losing followers.  

But as the five of pentacles show us, if we don’t pull in the reigns and reset our minds, we self-sabotage.  The only option left before destruction, clear our thoughts and turn inward. Reflect on our accomplishments.  And when we look at the situation, we know what we must do. We will follow the advice of six: 10 = 1 + 5 = 6.

It’s the number that overcame five (5) obstacles. It (6) tells us to slow down so we can move into the next phase. Create another amazing feature for our readers once rested. But, if we ignore the warnings, we end up burnt out and once again blocked.

So the next time we want to create something without a little R & R, remember we only grow with quality, not quantity. Maybe it’s time to take a step back and reexamine our creative process.  And if we do, we’ll increase our fan base because we’ll focus on one quality article at a time rather than producing twenty mediocre ones every other day.

Now relax for a bit, then pick up that pen and let it rip.
